Getting Songs on the Air

Once you have downloaded a Track or Bundle, it will appear in the My Library section. To get these songs on the air, you can either burn tracks to a CD or Export tracks.

Burning tracks to a CD

You can drag multiple Tracks or Bundles into the Playlist & Burn/Export window to create a full CD. As tracks are added, you will notice a Total Time indicator on the top right of the window. If you plan to burn tracks to a CD be sure not to exceed the time available on the blank CD. Once you have created your list of tracks to burn, click on the red Burn To CD button. A window will appear prompting you to choose the number of seconds between songs and the burning speed. For most computers, we recommend burning at a maximum of 8x, however faster computers should not experience any problems burning at higher speeds. Once selected, click Burn To CD to begin the process.

Please note that the Promo Only MPE Player will not allow you to do other tasks during the Burning process. It is also recommended that you do not navigate out of the Player to other programs during the burn process. As with any burning software, this could lead to a digital error on the burned CD.

If you would like to print a Track Listing Insert simply click on the Print button in the Playlist & Burn/Export lower window.

Exporting Tracks

Tracks or Bundles that have been added to the Playlist & Burn/Export can also be exported. Click the Export Tracks button to launch the Export dialog box. You will be prompted to choose an Output Folder, which can be on your local computer or on your network. You can also choose whether you want a standard PCM .WAV file, Scott Studios .WAV File, Windows Media (WMA) File or AAC (iPod) File. All broadcast system will play a standard PCM .WAV file. If you choose to output a WMA or AAC file, you will also be able to select the bit-rate of your file.

In addition to the audio export, you can select to output a .CSV text file of the track. This feature is used to import the track data into your scheduling program or music database. You may also select to output an ASC file for MusicMaster, XML file for standard metadata or the Album Graphic JPG file.

Once you click Export, you will notice progress bar open to indicate the status of the file saving. Once completed, a pop-up window will appear and you will be able to click on the link to open the folder of where the file was exported. If you are exporting an AAC (iPod) file and you have iTunes installed and the default audio player on your computer, you can double click the track and it will auto-import into your iTunes Music Library.

Please Note: If you select a Scott Studios .WAV File, you will have to enter the SP # of the file(s) for export. This is a 4-digit number. All header information will be directly imported into your Scott Studios software such as TLC.

Export Window

The easiest way to get songs on the air may be to save exported tracks to your local area network. Click the Choose Folder to browse for a location on your network to save the exported files.

If your station uses MusicMaster for Windows you can easily add tracks to the system using external library synchronization. To make the synchronization process possible, there may need to be some initial set-up of your specific system for the data exchange with the Promo Only MPE software.
